Dr. Bernadette Maryann Rostenkowski-Wolowitz is a pint-sized scientist who, aptly, has a Ph.D. in Microbiology. Her height is a source of sensitivity due to a childhood bully, who once replaced her clothes with an elf’s costume. That was still too large. Bernadette is also not a huge fan of children. This stems from her forced employment at the illegal daycare center that her mother ran out of their home’s basement. Additionally, Bernadette’s father was a police officer. This is something that she admits caused her anxiety as a child as she worried about his safety constantly. She and Howard met on a blind date through Penny and instantly bonded through their mommy issues. Superpowers: Safely handling the world’s most deadly viruses, Mrs. Wolowitz impressions (it’s uncanny!). Weaknesses: Scarily competitive. Doesn’t know how to ride a bike (because her mother thought she would lose her virginity going over a bump!), Mrs. Wolowitz impressions (it freaks Howard out!).
In The Big Bang Theory, Leonard and Sheldon are brilliant physicists, geniuses in the laboratory, but socially challenged in the real world. Enter beautiful, street-smart neighbor, Penny who aims to teach them a thing or two about life. Despite their on-again, off-again relationship in the past, Leonard believes he’s found true love with Penny. Even Sheldon has found a female companion entering into a “Relationship Agreement” with neurobiologist Amy Farrah Fowler. In their free time, Leonard and Sheldon continue to enjoy frequent trips to the comic book store and fantasy role-playing games with their ever-expanding universe of friends, including fellow scientists Raj and Howard, and Howard's adorable microbiologist wife, Bernadette.
One of the largest cult phenomena of our time, Star Trek is a science-fiction entertainment franchise based on a fictional universe created by Gene Roddenberry. It includes a multitude of television series, movies, video and computer games, novels, and more depicting an optimistic future in which mankind has risen above past frailties and vices to unite with other intelligent species in the galaxy to explore the cosmos, discover new worlds, and encounter new civilizations - "To boldly go where no one has gone before!"
